There are five common problems with the gears of the bevel gear reducer:

For open gear transmissions or closed gear transmissions containing dirty and smooth oil, due to the relative sliding between the meshing tooth surfaces, some harder abrasive particles enter the conflict surface, and then the tooth profile changes and the backlash increases. As a result, excessive thinning of the gear causes tooth breakage.
Under normal circumstances, as long as the abrasive grains are mixed in the lubricating oil, the tooth surface abrasive grains will wear out during operation. For the high-speed and heavy-duty gear transmission of the bevel gear reducer, due to the large conflict force between the tooth surfaces and the high relative speed, the temperature of the meshing area is too high. Once the smooth condition is not good, the oil film between the tooth surfaces will disappear, causing the two The metal surfaces of the gear teeth are directly touched, and then they adhere to each other. When the two tooth surfaces continue to move relative to each other, the harder tooth surface tears part of the material on the softer tooth surface along the sliding direction to form grooves.
When the two gear teeth of the bevel gear reducer mesh with each other touch, the force and reaction force between the tooth surfaces cause touch stress on the two working surfaces, because the position of the meshing point changes and the gear moves periodically. So the touch stress is changed according to the pulsation cycle. The tooth surface is exposed to this alternating touch stress for a long time, and there will be small cracks at the knife mark of the tooth surface. As time goes by, the cracks of the bevel gear reducer gradually expand laterally on the surface, and the cracks form a ring shape. Later, a small area of the surface of the gear teeth will fall off and form some fatigue shallow pits.
The gear that receives the load in the operation engineering is like a cantilever beam. When the periodic stress of the root of the bevel gear reducer exceeds the fatigue limit of the gear material, cracks will occur at the root and gradually expand. When the remaining part is unacceptable Tooth breakage occurs when the load is transmitted.
The gear of the bevel gear reducer may also cause tooth breakage due to severe impact, eccentric load and uneven material in the work. Under impact load or heavy load, part of the tooth surface is prone to plastic deformation, and then the curved surface of the involute tooth profile is deformed.
